In 1985, the New Bethel Church was founded where Allen was made the Bishop and he served there till he was alive. He was a gifted Gospel singer and a musician. The group had performed with many gospel musicians throughout the country, including Andrae Crouch, Marvin Winans, Bebe and Cece Winans, the Clark Sisters, Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, John P. Kee, Fred Hammond, Tye Tribbett, Shirley Caesar, Donnie McClurkin, Bernard Jackson Jr. and Mary McLaurine Glover. They had been nominated for the Grammy Awards as well.
